Australia Day in the City is the major public event to celebrate Australia Day in South Australia held in Elder Park, Adelaide, each year on the 26th of January. Last year it was the biggest parade in Australia with vibrancy, colour, community and the celebration of national pride surround the Australia Day event in the City . AJA is participating in this Australia Day Multicultural Parade, with our participation, we are showing our support for Australia. So if you also participate in the parade, that means you are also supporting Australia. For more detail of the event,

2020 AUSTRALIA DAY PARADE in Adelaide ２０２０年オーストラリアデーパレード in アデレード
●AJA-SA group Marshalling Area AJA-SAグループの集合場所
Near Franklyn Central Apartments, Franklyn Street (GPO side) - Are No4
フランクリンストリートのフランクリンセントラルアパートメントのそば - 区分け番号４ Adelaide郵便局の並びです。
●Time to meet 集合時間
If you need a help to put Yukata on, please come at 3:30pm.
Otherwise you have to be there before 4:30pm.
集合時間：もし自分で浴衣を着られて着てくる人は４時半。その他の浴衣を着せてもらう必要のある人は、３時半に集合してください。
●Parade Route パレードの行路
Start – the parade starts from Franklin Street , move straight down King William Street
End - the parade ends at Elder Park with pedestrians entering Elder Park and vehicles\floats turning onto Victoria Drive and into the Torrens Parade Ground.
集合場所のフランクリンストリートからキングウィリアムストリートに曲がって、そのまままっすぐにエルダーパークへ向かいます。
●Small Flags 手に持つオーストラリアと日本の旗
Each group will be provided with paper, Australian flag for participants to wave during the parade. AJA-SA has 15 Japanese flags but there will be more than 30 participants. If anyone has some sort of Japanese flag or other items please bring it with you.
当日、オーストラリアの国旗と日本の国旗を渡します。オーストラリア国旗は主催者側から渡されます。日本の国旗はAJA-SAから渡しますが、残念ながら、１５本しかありません。もし皆さんの中で何か日本の日の丸の小道具とかありましたら、ぜひ持ってきてください。
●After the parade パレードが終わったらそのあとは自由です
Following the parade, there will be a free concert and many food stalls to enjoy meals. All are encouraged to stay and continue the celebration. The awards will be presented on stage at approximately 8:30pm. At the end spectacular fireworks will be displayed on the Torrens River.
エルダー公園でパレードは終了しますが、そのあとは、フリーコンサートを楽しんだり、食べ物の屋台で食べたり飲んだりして、最後の花火が終わるまで自由にしてください。最後のトーレンズ川からの花火はなかなかきれいですよ。
●Health and Safety 安全と体調管理
The weather on Australia Day may be very hot.
オーストラリアデーの日は、毎年暑くなる予報
If it is hot remember to Drink Water
暑いと感じたら必ず水を飲むこと。
●Adequate Sun protection 日焼け防止対策をしっかりと
Putting sunscreen or wearing hat is very importnat
帽子や日傘をかぶったり日焼け止めをつけたりをおこたらないこと。
Especially Japanese people who are new to Australian summer hot day, please do not under estimate the Australian Sun.
特にまだアデレードの夏を経験していない日本の人は十分この点を注意してください。
●Water 水分補給
Water may be available for participants at the start and the end of the Parade. However be prepared and bring some of your own.
主催者側からスタート地点と公園に到着したところで水が配給される予定ですが、受け取れない場合も考えて自分でも責任を持って水は用意してください。
この点も日本の人は注意お願いします。
●Foot wear 履き物
For Yukata beach thongs or sandals are preferable. However the road will be very hot and please be careful not to get sunburnt. Actually the parade organiser asked us to wear closed shoes. So it is depending on you what you wear.
浴衣なので、できれば草履かサンダルを履いてください。ただし、アスファルトが熱くなっているので、やけどをしないように注意してください。実際は、パレード主催者側からは、運動靴な歩くのに楽な怪我をしないような履き物と指示されていますので、皆さんの判断にお任せします。
●Weather forecast Australia Day anticipated 27 degrees at the moment 当日の天気予報
However 40 degrees or higher, the parade will be cancelled.
Please listen to Radio station MIX 102.3FM for information on the day
当日の気温は２７度の予報が出ています。主催者側では、皆さんの体調と安全を考え、 ４０度を超える場合はパレードがキャンセルになるかもしれません。その場合は、ラジオのMIX 102.3FMで放送しますので、気をつけていてください。
●Returning Yukata 借りた浴衣の返却について
If you have borrowed from AJA-SA (Yukatas belong to Mr & Mrs. Umehara)
After the parade, please take it with you and wash it gently in cold water by hand or machine. Then bring it back to the next AJA-SA Kaiwa Club on Tue, 6 Feb. If you can’t iron it that’s okay , but make sure at least to wash it in cold water.
AJA-SAから借りた方は、手洗いか洗濯機のジェントル＋水洗いして、できればアイロンをかけてください。アイロンがないときは、洗うだけ洗っておいて、次の会話クラブ（２月５日（火））に持ってきてください。
●For girls who borrowed Yukata from us 浴衣を借りた女子の皆さんへ
Please make a card board Obiita and bring it for your Obi. 帯板がないので、できたら厚紙などで帯板を適当に作って持ってきてくれると助かります。
●Belongings 手荷物や着替え
You have a responsibility of your belongings
荷物は個人で責任を持ってください。
There are no lockers or storage places, so you have to take your belongings with you all the time.
当日はロッカーとか預かり場所はありませんので、荷物は持ち歩けるように準備してくださいね。着替えた服などはバックパックなどにいれて背負ってもいいと思います。
● No free car park spaces フリーの駐車場はありません
There are no car parks provided so use public transportation. Or allow plenty of time to look for a car park far from the marshalling area.
専門の駐車場はありませんので、公共交通機関で来ることをお勧めします。車で来る方は、集合場所から離れていても間に合うように、時間に余裕を持って出かけてきてください。

How to participate with AJA in the 2020 Australia Day Parade パレード参加申し込み方法
Firstly: All people (Non Japanese nationality) are welcome; Secondly: Email to ajaofsa@gmail.com Mark it Attn: Kyoko
Please include the following details; - Your name and friend's names - If you Need to borrow Yukata or not - Your mobile phone number - Your email address Also note if you are not AJA financial member, we have to collect $5 for helping us to pay Group and Organisation Public Liability Insurance. Thank you.
** AJA financial members are covered already by their membership fee. Please don't this small detail discourage you from coming, we need you there.

If you wish to borrow a Yukata from us, please come to pick it up at the next Kaiwa Club on Wed, 15 Jan.
If you can not come to the next Kaiwa Clubto pick up Yukata, please let Kyoko know and she may be able to arrange another day. Please note : Unfortunately without wearing Yukata, you can not join the parade according to the regulation of the Adelaide City Parade Organiser. 参加したい方で、浴衣を借りたい方は、次の会話クラブ、１月１５日（水）にて、浴衣（ひもと帯セット）をお渡しします。 また、パレード当日、浴衣を着てきた方以外は、参加はできません。主催者側から、日本のグループは日本の伝統的衣装（アニメコスプレではなく）での参加と指定されていますので、ご了承ください。
